The Sean O’Mahony’s Senior team had well deserved two point win over Dundalk Gaels on Sunday morning in the Paddy Sheelan shield. The home side opened the scoring with what proved to be their only score of the first half, before Ben McLoughlin equalized after a penetrating run through the middle. Stephen Kilcoyne kicked two frees in a row from top of the right, after been fouled himself for the first and the second after Oisin Breen drove forward with purpose from midfield before been chopped down inside the 21 yard line. The swirling breeze made score taking difficult, but Stephen Kilcoyne did manage to kick two neat scores from play either side of a Conor Finnegan free off the sod to leave it six points to one on the changover. Kilcoyne pointed a beauty from play on the resumption before the Gaels finally got into the game, they kicked five on the trot to wrestle the match back to a single point with only ten minutes remaining. However up stepped Ben McLoughlin to fire over two long range points, the first from play, followed by a free from the same spot, and with full back Stephen Kettle’s diving save on the goal line keeping out a certain goal, and while the Gaels did knock one more over the bar, there was two points between the sides at the finish, 0-9 to 0-7.

Kellogg's GAA Cúl Camps provide primary school boys and girls, between the ages of 6 and 13, with an action-packed and fun-filled week of GAA activity. The Sean O'Mahony's Cul camp starts Monday 18th July, until Friday 22nd, from 10am to 2pm, and online bookings are now open. The €75 cost for the first child includes two training tops and a bag for each kid.
