Well done to the Yahoo's, Lynn & Kieran Cunningham plus Niamh & Paul Heany who won our Fun Quiz last Friday night in Clarkes Bar, with a single point victory in what was a very tightly contested finished. There was 4 teams within 2 points of the Yahoo's, so it really went down to the wire. A big thank you to our quizmaster Paddy Kettle on another brilliant quiz, plus Eamon Doyle, Peter Sage and of course all who donated prizes for the raffle, not forgetting everyone who supported both the night.

An understrenght Sean O'Mahony's Senior team went down to a 1-13 to 6 points defeat in the Paddy Sheelan Cup in Cooley on Sunday afternoon. The match was played up on the Kickhams back pitch, which was quite dry for early March, in the glorious sunshine with a fantastic view of Carlingford Lough and the Mountains of Mourne in the background. With the stiff breeze and the slope favouring the home side in the first half, Cooley dominated possession and held a five point lead at the break, with Sean Mathews converting two
frees and Conor Murphy kicking a well worked point from play.
The introduction of Stephen Kilcoyne at half time seemed to lift the lads from the Quay in the third quarter, and he duly kick two great points while Conor Mackin fielded Callum Smith's long pass to notch an impressive mark. With the deficit now cut to only three points, the comeback briefly looked on, but the home side gradually took control of match again and kicked 1-4 without reply in the final quarter to record an impressive win. Well done to Aaron Mackin, Tiernan Cassidy and Mark Duffy on making their Sean O'Mahony's Senior debuts, and hopefully some more of our experienced players will be back in the fold over the coming weeks.
